[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Taken at the Butchart Gardens in Victoria, British Columbia, this is a stunning example of the fuschia plant, one of many varieties. The gardens are spectacular, consisting of over 50 acres of flowers, trees and shrubbery.

Adjusted curves in Photoshop and sharpened slightly.

Lovely capture. Soft and great colors, TFS, Regards, Josée

Hi Bob - The colours work well and I like the composition. At the risk of being overly critical here are my suggestions, and they are worth what you have faid for them!

The flower on the right isn't as sharp as I'd like, that may be down to the relatively slow shutterspeed. Try widening the aperture and/or upping the ISO then going for a faster shutter. And - I don't know if you did here - use a tripod. The slightest shake or breath of wind can severely harm flower shots, as I know from trying them myself!

Anyway, tips over, i think thiis is pretty good and I like the natural framing from the leaf in the bottom left especially.

Hi Bob,
Superb sharpness of this fuschia nice the colour contrast of the purple and white part of the flower. The slightly blurred BG gives the image a perfect 3D view! Excellent use of depth in this image.

Hans

N.B. Read Richard critique, for me the second flower appears to be sharp :-)
