| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Looking down on the Sunken Gardens within Victoria's famous Butchart Gardens. Over 50 acres of flowers, shrubbery and trees provide a veritable feast for the photographer. In the three hours I spent there, I think I shot about three hundred images.
Hopefully the sky doesn't look too fake - I exposed for the main scene and the sky got blown out. In Photoshop I selected the sky with the marquee tool, ending just below the bottom-most portion of the sky. I added a selective color layer and selected white as the color. I also checked "absolute" in the dialog box. I then adjusted the cyan and magenta sliders until I got a reasonable looking blue sky. I then used the gradient tool (with black as the foreground color and white as the background color) and drew up slightly on the blue sky to give it a bit of a transition from light to dark.
Sharpened slightly and re-sized. |

I like the shot - it looks somewhat similar to Minter Gardens also in B.C.
This is a beautiful garden! It would be diffiult for me to leave this place, if I ever had a chance to get there. Thank you for sharing.

Hello Robert
Beautiful visual, charmed with this beautiful garden, a beautiful postcard of this place.
Wonderful composition, she would be a triumphal entrance here for the Spring in Brazil.
Congratulations for the look and his good taste.
