Fisgard Lighthouse

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
Taken a year ago during our trip to Seattle and Victoria, this is the Fisgard Lighthouse, the first lighthouse on Canada's west coast and still in operation. It is located on Vancouver Island at the Strait of Juan de Fuca at the entrance to Esquimalt Harbour. Built in 1860, the light was automated in 1929, and marks home base for the Royal Canadian Navy. Hi Bob,
Beautiful scenery. Reminds me of childhood memories of holidays in the Swedish Skaergaard.
It's postcard perferct, maybe except for the modern construction on the hill in the back. Sometime you can feel almost sad that everywhere you point your camera there is some indication of modern life and the resources required to live it. At least thats how it is here in Hong Kong.
Anyways, I like your composition and I think your exposure is spot on here. Super colours too.
Cheers,
Jens
You have done a good job with this-I have photographed it many times and it is so easy to blow out the white part of the lighthouse--I also think that by choosing to show the background and foreground it gives the feeling of true size---well done----Lynne
Hi Bob,
A fine soft colour composition. Quite well balanced, the diagonal from left top to right bottom is clearly observed. There are many interesting details in this image, all the different (small) buildings inviting to be watched more closely.
A fine posting Bob, I like it!

Hi Robert,
My kind of image, rocky shores, charming lighthouse and vivid blue sea with a lovely pastel blue sky.
The sharpness and detials are subperf.
Regards, Tom
Beautiful. It seems like a postcard. Amazing work as always
