Wood Working
 |

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
This photo was taken in the Peel Heritage Complex in one of their galleries. It was an exibit showing different professions from the past. This photo was the shavings shown on one of the woodworking tools.
Settler' homes, the furniture inside, and the tools used to make them were all made of wood. Even when a house was built of stone or brick, the roof, doors, window frames, trim, cabinets, floors and furniture were still made of wood.
Woodworkers often specified in creating items; cabnetmakers built furniture, coopers made barrels, wheelwrights formed wheels, shinglemakers cut shingles for the roof, and carpenters built houses.
Even though they created different kinds of objects, woodworkers used many of the same tools. Axes, planes, drawknives, chisels, and saws could be found in most woodworking shops.
**Post Pro - original crop, increased contrast, USM, and AutoLevels. I only wish that I got that large woodshaving in the front in focus. All well...cant get too perfect! |

Very good close-up. I like the mood of this shot. The focus doesn't bother me at all, I find it good the way it is. Nice colors and lighting.
Very interesting Pamela. I like the use of lighting and DOF here. Thanks for the informative note as well :)
