The 1957 Bel Air

In 1957, the Bel Air underwent some drastic styling changes in an effort to boost sales. The 1957 Bel Air was lowered by 1.5 inches and made 2.5 inches longer. It was given a new unmistakable look with the addition of dramatic tailfins and jet-inspired pods to house the headlamps. With this new styling, sales skyrocketed. The Bel Air became the car of the rock-and-roll generation, representing independent, style and flair. In short, it became one of North America's most popular production car.
I bet this is not the most economical car, with gas prices around 98 cent, I'm happy to just look instead of driving it.

Hi Sky...
Wonderful point of view... The colors, reflection on the chrome and angle of the shot are wonderful... It's also very creative ... Of course ingenious shot...
TFS...
Stay well..
Salim.

Hi Sky,

Hi Sky
One of my favorite cars. Great DOF and POV. Also good colours, sharpnes and details.
Well done sky

These cars are so unbeliveably retro! And as old as I... Great sharpness, and excellent light, well balanced. You did well on the composition, in a situation that can present problems. In other words: well done!

Great Composition, detail and colour balance. Very Crisp!
For me the wording is too big though and overpowers it a little.

Ooo. Hi Sky
Perfect car. Very nice composition!! ;)
I like American cars. Well done .I like POV
Thanks for sharring.

Kerem

Car as sculpture, that's what this Chevy was, with fins so sharp they cut the air. You have caught the feeling of speed, the swoop of design with the car standing still, wonderful POV, color and clarity. I might suggest a little smaller title on the frame, but that is a minor point in an overall wonderful and nostalgic photo.
Regards,
Lois

Very nicely done, Sky. I really like these old cars as they are so elegant (maybe not as safe as they should be but who cares now!!!) I really like your composition that shows us the beautiful lines of this car. Very nice light as well. Excellent!

Hi Sky,
Very nice POV for this car, I like the resultiing composition with the great colors and sharpness, with even some reflection on the side of the car.
Very well done.
Luc

Hi Sky,

Yet another impressive piece of automobile history. Excellent POV which shows the extensive use of chromework in the older cars. Text is fine IMO, if you were to buy that as a poster it would probably be twice that size. 98 cents? We pay up to $1.42 down here. TFS,
David

Hello Sky,
'57... That is long time ago, but still running!
I like your POV here, as you emphasise what is special about the looks of this car...
I think good car photography takes some special skills... you seem to have them but I have to practise more, hehehe...
Well done!
Greetings,
Pablo -

Nice one Sky!

Lovely shot and car. I think you should have kept the lower part of the bumper for a better composition.

Hallo Sky,
Janusz

HA HA! You like old cars like I do! Very unusual! This is especially nice Sky! Great shot from the back end. I posted a 57 Chevy a while back and mine was blue and white!
