The MacDougall Church

Built in 1875 by the Rev. George MacDougall in Morley, Alberta. The church was used up to 1921 then it was abandoned. In the 1950s the church was restored, then in 1979 was declared a historical site.

The Rev. was buried here at the church, his headstone reads;
Sacred to the memory of Rev. George MacDougall Age 54.
The deceased was for 16 years chairman of the wesleyan missions in the north-west. He lost his way on the prairie about 40 miles east of this place on January 24th 1876. His body was found on the 5th of the following month and interred here by his sorrowing family who have erected this tribute to his memory.
