“Looking down on the upper battery” is the name of this photograph. While part way up Signal Hill, near Dead man’s pond, I walked close to the edge, not too close, and took this photograph. It shows part of the upper battery with the harbor entrance in the background. On the far side of the harbor, the fishing boats tied up.
And as you can see, the roads are very narrow and a nightmare in the winter.
This picture was level adjusted, sharpened in the lab color U. S. M. 80, 1, 0, and saved for the web. |

A very unique looking place, I like the colors and the point of view.
Great depth on this one Jim. It feels so like a 'birds eye view', And what a lovely place it seems to fly over for a bird. A harsh landscape but with such Character. I take it in winter is completely covered in snow and much ice? That would be interesting picture from this point... Please take all care if you try it! One further question Jim when you write 'saved for the web'? What is the process you use? For today with a print for Xmas present I realised that the way I down size my images does loose quite a lot of quality?
