[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is a painted mailbox I donated to The Prairie Art Gallery in Grande Prairie, Alberta for a fundraising auction. I was very pleased that it sold at a near record price (second only to a esteemed local artist) following my earlier solo exhibition "Art of The Mystic", the origin of my tag.
The image depicts an old mentor, Prof. Rudolf Hausner of the Akademie der Bildenden Kuenste in Vienna, whom I had been coresponding with in the late seventies, and is a tribute to his "Adam" series. The Canadian postage stamp bears my logo (which in turn was inspired by Gustav Klimt's colophone). The mushrooms stand for growth (since I am following the Vienna School of Phantastic Realism and had tried to be one of it's Ambassadors in Canada).

OK, well, I guess art is an acquired taste.
Just joking :-).
Love it. Don't know why but I really do. I have a friend (my drummer actually) who paints. But he's into really dark stuff with hidden faces you have to discover. Scary...
So I guess someday I will eventually understand it.
Your note is a tremendous help though.
Well done. Thanks
Pierre

A very clear image Otto, the colors come very good out.

Hi Otto,
Congratulations for picture first and then to have given it to a fundraising action.

I like those colors here and the way you photographed it. This is a very original mailbox :-) Thanks,
Claudine

that´s a cool mailbox - good job, otto! :-)
although i´d never put it outside and allow somebody to put mail into it.
superb note and information, really helpful in understanding the painting, a real "mystic",
although it somehow reminds me of the intermissons in the Monty Python movies. *g*
terrific job & viele grüße, thor.

What a beautiful mailbox,Otto! I just love it! Very nice work of art! Great colors! Tfs! Michel

Hi Otto, I don't know how long a mailbox like that would last here. Bold, bright and colourful and yournotes are beginning to teach me about your art. TFS,
David

Many thanks for your comment on ‘Little Dove...’

Curious! I was sure that i give a critic about that one. Probably i did push the add too fast?
I imagine the first time the mailman see the box, theyre is always a funny reaction and this is sometime the good thing a photo can do.... Let imagine the reaction not during... but after :)
It's colorfull and imaginative. Playing with symbolic like all your art i believe :)
