This was a tree in the Halifax Public Gardens. Most of these old trees got blown over in Hurricane Juan in 2004, but this one made it. As you can see, spring comes late in Halifax - this was late May, and still no leaves.
This is my repost. I just took the original, took out all the colour, and then played with the levels a lot to get this snowy look (bring the middle level all the way to the black point). There isn't actually frost or snow on the tree despite this being taken in Halifax in May! |
