[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Last week, a friend of mine called to tell me that he had met a guy with an interesting face who was willing to be photographed. Here is my first attempt at portrait photograpy. Taken outdoors on a cold overcast day. I took several pictures in colour but I found this one more interesting in black and white.
I posted another photo of Jim in a Workshop to show what Jim looks like in colour!

good B&W portrait
good light and detail
good DoF too
regards

This is a very nice portrait, well composed, nice definition, texture, sharpness of detail, etc. I like the fact that the subject is placed just off center to the right, but I wonder what it would look like if you cropped out some of the shoulder and placed him a bit more to the right side. Perhaps you tried that and it didn't work out? Anyway, very nice work, I really enjoyed it.

what a good portrait... i like the position that Jim have in this picture, and the classic mood that the picture have... it may be your first attempt of a portrait, but is an excellent one.. congratullations....

Excellent portrait. I like that he has his hands up to his mouth which is nice and candid. Very natural.

I like this shot & the B&W decision. You have an eye for a good subject material. Keep it up!
Freddie :)
