One of the primary purposes in creating the Irving Eco-Centre: La Dune de Bouctouche was to increase the public's understanding of the dune's threatened environment. Irving Eco-Centre’s bilingual interpreters are available from May to November to explain why it is important to preserve the dune.

An important purpose of the Irving Eco-Centre is to contribute to the scientific knowledge of dune ecosystems along the north Atlantic coast. Data is collected regularly and assessed by the Eco-Centre's staff for various research projects: dune monitoring and restoration; an insect inventory; a butterfly count; a migratory shorebird survey; and a piping plover monitoring project. Geomorphology (the study of the forms and the evolution of the earth's crust's relief features on the Bouctouche spit) and ecodynamic mapping (mapping of the dune's plant environment) of the Bouctouche Dune are being carried out by the Université de Moncton

Hi Dany

Nice compostion. Your POV is quite effective with the path providing excellent leading lines for the eyes to follow. The lighting presented to you is difficult to manage but you did a nice job!

Cette dune me rappelle de jolis souvenirs de Vacances Dany. J'aime beaucoup ton point de vue avec cette immense passerelle qui nous mène à l'horizon. Ton image est vraiment bien composée. Les couleurs me font cependant penser à une photo scannée. J'ai pris la liberté d'un atelier où j'ai essayé d'éclairer davantage ton premier plan et le bleu du ciel. Bravo! Annie
