[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Good Day !

I am late today in my posting for two reasons. First I am on duty and I had to attend on the docks on a ship. Second , The first big event of the racing season was on until 13h30 this afternoon. Beside photography, I do enjoy car racing as well.

Yesterday was the start of the 24 hours of Daytona, Florida . It is the first major event in the racing season in North America. And our local guys did very well !

Results Note the winer covered 668 laps (3.56 mile road track ) for a total distance of 2378.08 miles or 3827.0441 kilometers .

Patrick Carpentier finished 2nd overall with the Pontiac Riley car No. 11 in the Daytona Prototype class while
Jean-François Dumoulin finished 11th overall but 1st in the GT Class with the Porsche GT3 Cup!

Note Patrick Carpentier currently living in Las Vegas , had Milka Duno ( Venezuela) Ryan Dalziel ( Orlando, Florida ) and Darreen Manning ( England) as teammates

The photo here , was taken last year during the GPTR. Of course I could not attend in Daytona ( not this year at least .... ) Just a little tribute to my local heroes (^_^).

Perhaps I should mention Juan Pablo Montoya ( Colombia), Scott Pruett ( USA ), and Salvador Duran ( Mexico) finished first. The best of the Nascar boys finished 3rd overall ( Jeff Gordon ). Other notables Bobby Labonte 10th , Jimmy Johnson 36th , Tony Stewart 48th....

Next event for the Rolex serie will be in Mexico City in March!!!! Be prepared down there !

Technically : I blurred the BG, did clone a few items. Preferred to issue an irregular frame. Hope you will like it. Driver`s helmet was resting on the roof of the car , while the hood was open in the BG .
The red tint comes from the canopy covering the garage area.

COOL shot! I like the use of light and the composition.
The shallow DOF here is superb!
I am a race fan too. I see a few NASCAR boys finished well at 24 Daytona. (if you count Montoya as a NASCAR driver.)
Was the 3rd place finisher Jeff or Robby Gordon?
You may not understand my liking of NASCAR as most open wheel racers don't but open wheel is not popular here, except the Daytona 500!
I do like the Rolex Series but they hardly ever televise it here.

Love this shot! We have a 'classic' car that my husband races and I join him as navigator when we rally. There is nothing like that adrenalin rush at the start! :-)

I like this composition a lot, the lighting is ecxellent and Ithe details are very interesting. POV, sharpness and DOF are great, I love how the BG in this close up is blurred and brings out the sharp detail even more.
