bravo! that reminds me somewhat of a book of photos made by sean penn (I guess?) who dedided to dedicate a whole book to flowers, but fading flowers... bravo... maybe you could try to enhance contrast and push luminosity to enhance this shot further. I tried a ws... hope you like it;-)

I like the muted colours and the black background raises uo the subject. The DOF is excellent. A note with your thought taking this picture are always useful in giving critiques
