Emerging Nightmare

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
While I was sharpening my Ice Storm picture, I noticed in the upper left part of the composition a shape that resembled an open mouth, from which other wavy crystals emerged.
I took another macro shot of that area and discovered, what seemed to me, an "unfriendly character" which I intended to call "The Icy Wind" because I thought it could personify the violent nature of a blizzard.
When I inverted the picture in order to enhance the character's visibility, I found myself before a much "darker" representation.
After having changed the color balance and increased the contrast, I saw this image emerging in my workspace.
I hope it didn't scare you. I was a little bit... concerned by my interpretation of a simple ice crystal, but I thought at least the transition from ice to fire could be interesting enough for a post.
After that I rushed back to the window and... guess what else I discovered among the strange icy patterns? ;)

Salut Mihai,
frumos cosmar :)

Hi Toni, interesting what our minds see in art! I can't say I see the same dark character, but I must say that I again see the incredible beauty within the crystaline form. You have done a great job catching these ice crystals, and I really like the detail, clarity, and POV.
Looking forward to more in this series!

I see the dark creature!: I saw a dragon, for sure, with its mouth gaping open, and breathing fire below it. Is that what you saw Toni? I love the colors and range of tones in here. It's so sharp, and the contrast between ice and fire in the same shot (with "fire" being made OF ice!) is wonderful. You have such an imagination. Nice too how the lit-up lower half of the shot runs roughly across the shot, but not too straight. Every square inch has SO much detail and beauty. I am glad that you were thoughtful enough to keep taking various shots and interpretations of these ice crystals on the window. TFS!
