A Black Cat (Felis catus)

This is Murphy, an old friend.Black cats are difficult subjects to shoot because the fur is difficult to light without washing it out,or getting too much reflection.She is about 1.5m in front of a window facing the window,and I used flash fill to compensate.Her pupils were just slits and this prevented a lot of reflection from the retinas.
The cat (or domestic cat, house cat) is a small carnivorous mammal. It is valued by humans for its companionship and its ability to destroy vermin, and has been associated with humans for at least 9,500 years.A skilled predator, the cat is known to hunt over 1,000 species for food.

Murphy you are beautiful, but then I do have a thing for black cats (and most other colours too if truth be told) Titan has just a few white hairs which we say is enough to stop him being called "black" which is good because we have had several black cats that met untimely ends and now refuse to have a pure black cat, so comes Titan with his flecks of white, and the lable of Pure Evil. (he isnt evil he just has a sense of humour)

Hi Rob,
how sweet, lovely shot, I like the pose with the head slightly tilted.
The sharpness is very good and there is a lot of texture in this black fur.
