[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Continuing our exploration of the Oldman River Valley in Lethbridge, my son and I went above the water treatment plant weir to take pictures of pelicans feeding in these turbulent waters. While we had taken quite many pictures yesterday, today turned out much better, because of a better viewpoint: of 150 pictures, this is just one that turned out pretty good, and the weather was better also. In time, I will put a slide show together and post the link in the notes.
This is a crop from a larger picture, curves, contrast and color adjust, downsized.

Hi Otto,
A wonderful capture of one of my favorite birds. Great control of light, and good range of colors on this guy from his blue eye to the colors in his beak.
Congratulations,
Karen

Beautiful capture.

What a beak! I knew the "Fou de Bassan" from Gaspesie for theyre white body and yellow head...
But him? He look huge! Pelican or Heron? I believe it's more near the Pelican but i'm not sure! Well capture and look so close! Nice compo around for the water and rock!

Hi Otto,
Great shot, good colour and sharpness and the lighting is good too, I especially like the detail in the head and the way you have frozen the water.
Well done
Tfs Andy

Hi Otto, simply superb. Good colour, lovely light and perfect detail. TFS,

hi otto!
graet shot you have in here! with good natural light! i like the cromatic contrast between the orange zones of the pelican and the cold tones of blue and green of the water! it looks really great!
you should have post it at "humorous" too, cuz the pelican looks pretty funny! :)

love,
reea

Having a bad hair day, hey?
Very good capture. Good sharpness, composition and details.
Well done
Pierre

Hi Otto,

Lovely shot! Very sharp, the feather details excellent and the lighting even though very strong was handled nicely. Nice tight composition and great colors.
TFS,
Vassilis

water treatment plant? not something to do with nuclear power looking at this mutated pelican? *lol*
terrific capture, otto! :-)
wonderful details - the thing on the beak, the blue eye, the ruffled feathers, the turbulent waters - ,
good sharpness and greatly handled exposure.
i did not check yet, but i guess we will see some pelicans on TN too?
wonderful job & viele grüße, thor.

A good capture Otto
I like the wild water and good colours
