[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Driving up a mountain road with the windows rolled down, enjoying the view. Ihear a noise next to me a decide to look in the mirror on the door. There sands a black bear with two cubs. yelled at Otto to stop the car. One baby a dark brown/black the other a cinnamon color. Adorable. however I missed that photo op. Mama quickly shooshed them back in the bushes while sh stayed and chewed on the grass. Oh well maybe next time I'll get the family.
Not totally the clearest pic, but I didn't want to be this close for too long.(car or not) Sorry for the shake
Curves added, slight crop, then resized and added a border.

Shake or not it's an impressive animal and you got good and close! Amazing how indifferent the bears obviously are to cars - they know there's a threat, but not that much ... (If only they knew.)

You cannot stand and fiddle around with your camera when you are that close to a mother bear proteting her babies!! LOL. and so inspite of wanting to be quick and getting a shot I think you did great! Awesome animals aren't they. I recently got a pic of a black bear in Alaska but he wasn't as close up as this ...but seeing an animal in a natural environment like that, instead of a zoo, is a real buzz

Hi Christan! It's good that you have seen bears in the wild. I only see them in zoos. They're cute but I know they are dangerous too. I've seen videos of people being grabbed from the bears' cages because few people think they're just cute and adorable. It's good that you kept a distance :)
