An abandoned highway in the mountains. The bushes have overgrown their boundaries, the street will be reclaimed in time.
How long before all our highways share this fate?
Who will walk the roads when they are no longer on maps? |

Hey Andrew! Thought you disappeared for a bit, hehe. Very nice work with an awesome background. I really like not only how the background is filled with a dramatic cloudy sky and huge evergreens but also with the wet pavement in the foreground strewn with branches and twigs...Mother Nature is taking over again! And it's about time, sheesh. Is that you in the photo? Very good too how you are wearing clothes that match the color of the pavement, so that you don't pop out too much with color and then distract from the nature around you. Really interesting too that you held a flame at your left to illuminate the side of your face and shoulder, giving the right amount of light so that we can still clearly see you. Along with the title the shot could almost have a dystopia feel or atmosphere. Great point of view and framing with the wedge of sky off-center and the faded painted lines in the road giving perspective. The two elements create a great focal point. Very good detail and clarity, nice and sharp. Now, I know you probably didn't want the shot to get too dark but I find that the darkest tones of the shot are a little bit washed out, so maybe adjusting them in levels might help. Otherwise a fantastic photo with a great idea. I wonder what that road leads to.....
TFS!

A very, very Andrew photo indeed!!
It captures a great amount of mystery. Where does this path lead? How does this traveler feel? What is just around that corner? Reminds me of a photo of yours (with long hair!) and holding fire? Or another light of some sort.
Very nice.
