[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Another attempt to photograph the moon in front of my house. I live on Lake
Erie , I call it living on the edge of Canada :o) Its a great place to live as I
get to see the sunrise in the winter over the lake, set in the summer behind my
house and then I get to see sites like this Moon hovering over the lake and
shines though the night.
 
I have a hard time focusing the camera at night for some reason, try the
auto focus but the camera doesn't like it at night.  So I take lots of
shots in hopes that at least one is in focus!

Well composed, good atmosphere!
I think you manage quite well here, you can also try to underexpose a tad to see how that works for the reflection...
And the mood is so impressive!

Hi Donna,
While you were capturing this image from the shores of Lake Erie, I was trying to do the same from a cottage on Rice Lake. The scene was basically the same, the full moon shining on the water. Needless to say, I did not succeed in getting any good images with my Canon Powershot. That was one time I was regretting that I did not have an SLR with a long focal length lense. You have a decent shot here.

Superb night shot to create a beautiful mood. For the focus I would simply go manual (switch should be on lens) most of the time with a SLR, because if you get for instance a small branch or anything else between you and the subject the camera could decide to focus on it instead of the subject. For night shots it is also fun to take pics with different white balance adjustments (on the Rebel, I know my cousin also as a manual white balance adjustment, when you figure how to adjust you will get surprising night photo with amazing colours).
