When I photographed this I thought, wow, I have a harbor with sailboats just like David does...:o) I don't have that mist today but it was so hot and humid I couldn't see where the sky ended and the lake started...or is that I couldn't see where the lake ended and the sky started? :o)

For those of you who don't know...I live on lake Erie. lake Erie is one of the 5 great lakes, the 4th Largest being 57 miles across and 243 miles long.
it borders Ontario , Canada and USA states, New York, Pennyslvania, Ohio, and Michigan.

silence and the calmness, the really relaxing photograph, appeals to me...

Hola Donna,
Una muy bella imagen, simple, apacible, pero con una melancólica belleza que le da el gris de las aguas y el cielo, que parecen confundirse a lo lejos, y eso me gusta. Muy lindo el detalle de los botes y su reflejo. Excelente trabajo
Saludos
Hernán

Great shot here, we travel from the foreground to the boat to the background. Like it.

Hello Donna,

You have captured a beautiful moment closer to twilight. Dull horrizon has a mystic touch. An interesting subject has been chosen for this fine composition. Well done my friend.

Thanks for sharing this shot.

Evocative handling of subject with a bit of PS filter licence but who cares. The result is wonderful. Janos

Hola Donna,
sensacional amiente y bello pov,
agradable composición... saludos

Great capture, very good exercise in composition and light here
You could possibly trim a little off the bottom of the shot - or clone out those reeds - and not lose any of its impact.
Beautiful! Thank you for sharing it!

hi, donna
the lake... it's there alright. but where are those giants [the real ships]? are they hiding (!) or are they disguised and look like some tiny boats?
fine image of a calm day. the humidity is present here, too but along with it we also have pollution...
wish you all the best and fine summer days/nights.
regards,
cal

Hi Donna,
I thought of David's "Tamar Tranquility" shots when I saw this photo of yours . . . you live near lots of inspiration!
It's really beautiful how the light is hitting the house in the background, as well as its play in the foreground.
TFS,
Karen

Hello DONNA
Such subtelety of tones that conveys much romance to this beautiful display of elements on tiers-lines!
Fine-art tableau!
Best regards.
Robert

Hi Donna - that is what you get from being on TL - like you seeing a David-shot. I have the same feeling once in a while.
Love this shot of yours (and I can see the horizon in the distance -just-).
Must be wonderful to live there and get opportunities like this one.

Hi Donna,
another lovely one. I like the way the horizon is barely visible due to the atmospheric conditions !
Well done. Best regards, Daniel

Beautiful shot with jsut a little horizon line. I love it, it reminds me of driving through Saskatchawan in the winter.... There is no Horizon line, its just white as far as you can see. great shot.
