Hello my Treklens friends!
Another photo from my husbands ship. At the point in time when I took this photo we were "sailing" across Lake Erie. ( I put sailing in quotes , as the guys on the ship call it sailing , but we have no sails as we are in a 730' long bulk cargo ship with 2 big huge engines) Lake Erie for those who don't know is the 4th largest of the Great Lakes. Its 57 miles across from Canada to the United States and 243 miles long from New York to Michigan. Its bordered by Ontario, Canada and New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio and Michigan USA. We were traveling from Sandusky , Ohio where the ship had been loaded with close to 30,000 tons of coal to bring to a steel plant in Hamilton, Ontario. I was relaxing in the Captains livingroom ( my husband :o) When the room got dark really quickly . I got up to look out the window and then went to grab my camera and rushed out side. My husband and I stood on the deck out in the middle of this big lake looking at the cloud formations that were rolling in the sky. He said he had never seen such a thing and hes been out here sailing for along time. The clouds were everywhere and actually rolling closer and closer towards the water and us by the minute. We did have water spout warnings out on the lake so I'm thinking they were thinking about forming. Before that could happen another weather front came from the north bringing in heavy heavy rain and it came right though the clouds so we couldn't see them anymore.
It was pretty amazing though.
Funny how it wasn't that windy even with all those dark clouds they were just quietly thinking about doing something I guess...:o)
