[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I have set my camera to 2" super macro mode. Then I attached it to a tiny tripod and placed it outside on our balcony railing. It was about -5 degrees Celsia, early morning with diffused light. The background was originally black, so it was easier to isolate single snowflakes for later editing. I had to learn not to breathe when taking the shot, otherwise the flakes would melt before my eyes.

I have taken hundreds of snowflake photos and chose only the best ones for this collage.

Equipment:
Olympus C-4000Z 4MP digital camera set to 2" super macro mode. 5" table top tripod. SM card.

Postprocessing in PS 7:
- chose the sharpest photos
- converted them to grey scale
- cut & pasted each flake shot to the master PS document in layers
- run levels, contrast, and sharpening on each flake
- added shadows to each layer
- converted document to duotone (blue/black)
- sharpened

Grand travail avec petits cristaux...Très intéressant d'isoler des sortes de cristaux...un vrai petit documentaire pour tous ...et les enfants...Bien pensé...

Beaucoup de talent a l'horizon.....
J'ai déja tenté de faire une photo d'un seul flocon et je n'ai jamais réussi....comme je le désirais.....
Vous non seulement vous en avez plusieurs...mais en plus vous vous permettez d'en faire un montage en forme de cristaux.....
Je ne peux que vous lever mon chapeau tres haut,,,et vous dire...
