[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I was experimenting with shooting macros that are backlit from beneath.

Setup:
Thin slices of orange and lemon on a textured paper placed on a glass top table. Lit from beneath by a regular office lamp. Camera set to 2" super macro mode was on a tiny tripod for extra closeup. The blue centre piece is just a negative image of the original yellow lemon shot.

Equipment:
Olympus C-4000Z 4MP digital camera. Manual mode with 2" super macro. Table top mini tripod. SM card.

Postprocessing in PS 7:
- cropped & resized
- adjusted levels & contrast
- boosted colour and saturation
- reversed the centre image (negative)
- sharpened

Nice triptych! You've done an excellent job of the technical side here - I can't see anything to criticise there, although the concept seems slightly familiar to me ;) I'm undecided as to whether I'd prefer to have the left hand slice slightly top lit as well, or whether a stronger silhouette would be best - as it is it seems a little halfway to me, although that does accentuate the orangeness nicely! The right hand shot might work even better rotated slightly, so that the segment lines run across the diagonal (as they do in mine). Funnily enough I was thinking of doing a triptych myself, but I think I'll leave it now! Very well captured :-D

The final result of your experiment is amazing!
I love those neon colors, and how you used the tryptic frame to integrate them together.
Great macro shots, and a very good idea to convert to negative the central one..
Congrats.
