Treklens, what else to do than sit and wait...

After seeing the today photo of JohnTulip and his compassion to Greece, I decided to do the same!!
This empty bench underlines the feelings of sadness of what happens now in Greece.

We have friends there, good friends from Treklens,
lets hope the DEVINE one will be gracefull to them...

An empty bench... to emphasize my feelings ...

Photo made last year between Xmas and NewYear in Toronto, where I met:
LucBus;Silke and JohnTulip
Photo made with the Camera of Hans *GreenBaron*!

Soon will meet a lot of Dutch friends and Vassilis / Tanya from Greece (as you can read in JohnTulips previous last photo)

Thanks Folks, lets pray for Greece.

Superb contribution, Vandana -- I was inspired by John Tulip as well in my posting of the day.
I like this image for the mood it gives, also for the memories of your Christmas holiday trip
superb details (though I think I might have straightened it just a little)

Very good image with good meaning. Hope all gets better soon there!

Hello Vand
Good post. All we can do is sending a 'shoulder' for them to put there heads on. You know what makes it so real for me?
It is like Silke said.. maybe a little straightened , but knowing you and how precise you are, you did not care, you wanted the photo online. Am I right? And that makes it even more vcaluable.

Hello Vandana.
Good picture to overthink the Fieldfire situation in Greek.
It gives the idea that everybody is helping the victims down there.
Well choosen.

Hi Vandana!
The lonely bench is invaiting for the rest on it but around he has nobody. For me is a sad a bit.But who said the photography was supposed to entertain?

Hello Vandana,
it is a very original picture me much pleases, it is beautiful. The scene with the bank and the small divide beautiful architecture from that. A super shot congratulates. Kind regards.
Janusz

A nice perspective shot here Vandana.

The depth of field is excellent and very appropriate I think. Maybe the frame is very slightly tilted but that doesn't bother me. The detail is excellent as well and I like the composition very much and I agree with your sentiment.
Congratulations!
Best wishes
Bill

hi vandana, i agree my heart gos out to those in greece, the people and the animals, your image does look empty like those poor peoples hearts right now, thanks for sharing, scott

Hi Vandana,
Your photo conveys the sentiment so well. Excellent shot- great lighting and fine details. TFS Julie

Nice sentimental note. It's a tragedy, wherever such occurs! There are fires everywhere, but the Greek fires are by far the worse!

Hi Vandana, wonderful urban view with great DOF, lovely presentation, very well done, ciao Silvio

nice shot .....tfs

A wonderful tilt to this, but I REALLY love the teeny bit of the foot of the bench over the edge of the frame! Nice curves of the bricks leading the eye around! Very nice Vandana!
Linda
B-)

in half top part of the pic the tilted vertical lines don't works for me
but in the same time the half bottom part is very good
i tried a rotation of your pic just to see
finaly you made the right choice of framing
for the symbolic part of the post, i agree that an empty bench could evoke sadness, and the dramatic events are really sad
regards
jo

Hi Vandana
Tragic event well remembered - like your bench and it's simplicity. Not sure about the lines of the buildings in the backgrouds - need some straightening. Would do a WS but I haven't tried one with a frame. Not sure how that would work.
On a different note - I have my 18-200 and will post an image tomorrow.

Dan

Let's be quiet for a moment Vandana, like in your beautiful picture, sharp details as always, nice colours - but still natural and soothing and then that one leg of the bench just standing on the frame... Lovely composition.
See you soon-:)
Els

Hi Vandana,
This unfortunate worlwide problem transforms and destroys our planet and the "good man" is practically impotent in avoiding it while the "bad man" deliberately provokes it in many cases.
Thank you for sharing your concern and let's all hope for the best given the circumstances.

Lurdes

Hi Vandana,
Masterpiece from You again. Perfectly shows our feelings when thinking about Greece, and the nature... Tfs. All the best, László

Hello Vandana,

I agree that in the aftermath of the destruction we can only wait and see if Greece will rise once more from its ashes. Most Greeks are getting resources together and the effort will be immediate.
Lovely image to depict your feelings. Looking forward seeing you in Holland.

Vassilis

merhaba vandana;
verynice composition and cap...super pov..selamlar

Hello Vandana, this image is a very nice thought for our greek friends and their community. I wrote to Vassilis my worries.

Nice details in the architecture and I like the soft colours.
But I would have straightened the image.
Nice low pov. I like that.
Tfs.

Well done! Yan :)
ps: many thx for your comment on "Sous-le-Cap Alley".

Vanny reading the good note I love the mood of this picture, very well created Thanks, hugs and bye

merhaba dear vandana
wonderful composition and wonderful thought.
well done my friend.
best regards.
gürkan akçakır.

Hi Vandana,
this is a good shot, I like the textures (cobbled stones) on the ground and the nice lead-in characteristics therein.
Personally I have 2 main nit-picks here:
1. Perhaps a tad bit more saturation/contrast
2. Perhaps slight anti-clockwise rotation, or perhaps a result of barrel distortion.

Anyway these are all easy to sort out.

Good effort.
Best regards, Daniel

It is bad what happened in Greece. Most of us were watching the news trying to cope with the situation there. The empty bench is very symbolic in this image. Solitude and even despair is something that come to my mind. An excellent composition conveying strong human emotions. Thanks for sharing this beautiful image Vandana.
