[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
For more than 150 years, this lighthouse on the northern tip of Campobello Island, known as "Head Harbour Light" to locals and East Quoddy Head Light to Mainers (distinguishing it from the stateside West Quoddy Head) has guided mariners to safety in the environs of Passamaquoddy Bay near the Maine-New Brunswick border. In more recent times, its rugged beauty has also made it a popular tourist attraction.

This structure, with its distinctive red cross, was erected in 1829, some 21 years after the American West Quoddy Light was established on the Maine coast.

My panorama on TrekEarth shows a wider perspective of the landscape. This one offers a deeper vertical perspective to capture more of the rocky neck of land on which the light is situated.

Beautiful setting for a lighthouse. The rocks create such an excellent rockscape by the sea and add that little touch of dramatic flare. Good light and colours. The image is sharp and little details are easily seen. The people also add a sense of dimension on the scene. Not sure why though but the horizon line seem tilted to the right. Angle perhaps? Nice work Jim.

Lovely composition. The lighthouse looks quaint sitting there on that craggy point. I bet the fishing is fantastic too.
Good POV and DOF.

Excellent view! I presume it is something during strong wind to capt the waves... I see a movement like boiling.. Water is strong probably!
Lovely POV!

I have a shot of this light at night with the light on. As well as some day shots. It's a beautiful likgt, but it seem to be leaning slightly to the right. Good job. I'm always a sucker for a good lighthouse photo.

Jim, as you know lighthouses are my favorite subject. You have done a great justice to this lighthouse subject with the overall perspective. The subject shows up in just the right place and draws the eye to where it should be. I'm sure you have closer up images of this beautiful old lighthouse. Look forward to seeing them in the future!!
