Here is our backyard. What I mean is that it takes less than a one hour drive to get to this, Kananaskis Country, from our house. After the drive we hiked 16 km with an elevation gain of 500 m. A series of photos were taken at the summit (all at the same manual setting) and then stitched together. Our backyard is huge ;-)

I had to increase the height of the photo via border due to TL size limits.

Super panorama. And what a fantastic backyard you have. Lots of details and very sharp. Colours and light is great too.
Can you upload a large version?

Cheers,
Jens

.

Beautiful image, have you thought about uploading a large version. If you go to your manage tab from your intro page you'll see on the left a button for posting them large.

Some back yard, I think the crop is just about right, colours and sharpness are excellent also! TFS

Dean.

Hi Karin,
Very beautiful. Makes me homesick. Also, you did a great job on the stitching. Cheers, Paul.

Good stitch job, not easy with the clouds.

Two question : How many photos and how did you post the large version.

Thank you K100D brother ;-))

Jean

Hello Karin!

Lovely panorama and backyard !We cannot judge this small version but the large format is indeed very spectacular !

An Imax movie feeling looking at this wide panorafma. Bravo !

Hi Karin
Wonderful and spectacular panoramic scene and very nicely
captured. Stitching and all pp work are excellent. You do have
a huge backyard (°U°).

Paul

Hi Karin
Is this from the Fire Lookout at Barrier Lake? It's beautiful. The Lake is so blue. I love how you've stitched together your photos. In a couple of weeks the trees will be yellow. I have a photo in TrekNature from the lake level looking toward the large mountain in the background. Just gorgeous!

Hmm, this look like Barrier Lake and Mt Baldy. Am I right? Excellent panoramic shot of this beautiful area. K-Country is truly a gem that many tourists overlook. Good stitching process and colour saturation for this image....I live in Calgary so this place is not too far for me. Thanks Karin.

Roberto

Hi Karin,

Beautiful panorama, very well done. Almost no stitching visible (the fact that still some is visible might be related with the use of the polarizer, some claim with good reasons it is not to be used for panoramas as the darkening of the sky is strongly dependent from the angle relative to the sun). Your picture is an interesting proof that the theory does not always apply!

Tibi

The real film scenery.
Compliments. I like your presentation of your region.
Nice place to visit. TFS
bye Aga

Large version is fantastic :-)

Hi Karin,
Wanderful Landscape and view of Kananaskis, lovely panorama on Large Version with great colors and details of the place ..Very well done.
Michel
Many thanks for your comments on my pictures: Autumn country scene and November landscape. Michel

Hi Karin,
Great photo of a great landscape. A pity some of the trees are cropped at the bottom. You wrote You had to increase the height of the photo due to the rules of TL. To avoid both problems, try for example a 10- or 20-shot panorama, a lower and an upper row (or 2 from both). There are very good proggies to stitch them together (for ex. I have both Panorama Studio 1.4 and Ulead Cool 360. Both corrects the exposure differences between the shots, so they won't be visible).
Let me show You THIS and THIS images of mine, a 10- and a 20-shot panoramas.
Tfs, best regards, László

PS: I also have a 30-shot panorama on my HDD, but I was lazy to stich the shots. Maybe sometimes, if ever...

Wow! If this is your backyard, you're living in a painting, Karin! :) I like it a lot! Very nice scenery well captured. I like how you framed all the elements in the picture. It has balance. Great colors and details. Saturation is fine too. Exposure is well managed. It's a very very nice landscape photo. I enjoyed looking at it. Lucky girl! :)
TFS,
Freddie :)

Wonderful panoramic shot, and I am truly envious of anyone who has such a vista on their doorstep! Great colours and details and a superb composition with the lake offset to the right. Great stuff!
Thanks for sharing
Mark

You have a lovely collection of pictures from travelling, I particularly like this one, it looks amazing, good colour contrast, very nice panaromic view, well taken!

hello Karen,
Ahh...this shot makes me homesick. I grew up west of lake Louise. You have really caught the essence of the landscape with this panorama. 16 kliks is a good hike--you two must be in great shape!!
Great stitching job.
Take care, Joni
