child and his bucket
oh sweet baby of the water,
child of the earth,
you carry the sun in your heart.
the wind lives in your hair,
in your spirit, in your laugh.
the water anoints you,
with her salty kisses.
you teach the sand to run
with your tiny feet.
those childish fingers,
so young, so curious,
lead you to the water
with your bucket.
there is nothing you
cannot do,
no place you cannot venture.
you are born without boundaries,
without limits.
you are a child of the earth,
full of hope.
simple b&w, colored the bucket cropped and framed.. |

Good evening Calamity
Very good shot. Good photo respecting the rule of thirds no disturbing elements and this touch of color, great picture
Congratulations
Serge
Great composition and the b&w conversion has been done very well, maintaining a wide tonal range and keeping the details. The use of selective colouring adds a great focal point.
Thanks for sharing
Mark
Hi Calamity,
I do like black and whites and I don't mind the little not-desaturated idea. But in this composition, with only the blue and the little boy as such, it does feel a bit too much like those eighties posters that are out of fashion for 15 years now ;-).
But hey, who am I? I do still like the compo, but I don't feel the bucket was necessary in this one.
Greetings! Dennis
Well I love it !
Very simple, good compo, wide range of gray-values.
Do like that " blue bucket " : indeed, for him it's a very important tool ! :-)
Print it and find a spot on the wall ...
Should it be improved ? No.
Can it be ? Yes :
Look at his sholders, they're a bit OE.
If you could soften that, it would be better.
How ? " Steal " some gray next to the white spot and fill the OE area with it.
See you !
Jan
