[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is Casey, a German Sheppard in the family. I am fond of the eyes in this photo: I think the dog was wondering how long it was going to be asked to lay down for.

The PP on this photo includes a conversion to BW, a focal vignette using lens bur and a mask and a curves layer or three.

Excellent pet portrait with perfect focus on the eyes. The shallow depth of field worked very well and I am surprised that you needed to enhance the effect in Photoshop. Did you use the direct on-camera flash? The lighting is surprisingly good for a flash shot.

Hi Josh
You're right, that dog has interesting eyes. The photo is very sharp and well composed with some room left for the dog to see. Very limited depth of field creating a blurred background.

Great dog-picture! Really great!

Hi Josh,

A nice shot of your German Shepherd! I have to ask you one thing; Why did you go for black and white? A German Shepherd has such a nice toning. Why didn't you go for colours here?!
Nice shot of the boxer! ;-)

Hi Josh;
Its always great to see what looks like an emoption on an animals face, I am never really sure what they mean so I try to read them as I know them... always wrong! Here he looks like is worried about something (not being able to get up)...... The technical quality IMHO looks superb .....thanks for showing Josh......Roman:0)

Wow! This is not just a pet picture, Josh. I love how you framed your shot. The subject is well placed in the picture, with very good focus and depth. Love the expression on the cute doggie. Is it still not late to vote?
Cheers!
Freddie :)

This is a very good B&W Josh and a nice looking dog also. Focus on the eyes and face is tack sharp. The tonal range is also very good. While the blur you applied in PS really makes the face and eyes pop, I think I would have left the paws in focus as they're in about the same plane as the tack sharp nose. A very nice shot though...one of the best dog portraits I've seen in a long time.
