I thought this would be a nice photo to start off with TL

These are the OIKOS people from Environment Studies at L'Unversity d'Ottawa, Canada.

I wanted to capture the rich colors so I used slow shutter speed without flash that explains the pauzy faces of the group. I know I should have moved the chair on the left.
OIKOS: merci pour votre patience avec ma camera.

If you liked this photo you can also check another photo of the same group that is much more funnier and relaxed.

I would appreciate the critique of fellow TL members.

Hi. welcome to TL! Not a bad start. Much better then me. ;) I like the lighting and the colors. I like the lights in the background. However the composition is very .... dry? You have some nice smiles and people to look at but the format is very standard. Browse this site and you will find some really great people doing great things with photography. I am sure you will be inspired to try new and exciting compositions. It is too bad the chairs are in the frame. I do not mean to sound harsh in anyway. Like I said it is much better then my first postings. Just thought I would give you my two cents. Hope you don't mind! Look forward to seeing more from you!

Welcome, this is a nice shot of your group. I like how you placed the one person on the floor and the other sitting on the arm of the couch. Maybe if you removed the tables and chairs placed another person on the floor it would spruce this up. I think the room is interesting and the lights outside are very nice.

Hi Sarju,

Welcome to TrekLens. Man, you are hard on them, 2 seconds is an long time to wait for the subjects. ;o) hehehe You did well at capturing the warm colors but as you say, the 2 chairs on the left should have been removed. But, at least, you got a photo of your friends! :o) ... without a flash in the windows! :o) I like the fact that we also see some buildings in the background.

Have a nice day, hope you will like it here on treklens. :o)

They look like a nice freindly group! I can appreciate your hard times in my side of the earth, usually it is a lonely place. I am in Varkala.

It is such a relax group. Ever think of making a wedding picture with this kind of relax atmosphere? I think you achieved the rich colors and the spontneous expressions of the group.

Hello Sarju !
Welcome in TrekLens and other Trek sites.
Nice group capture. Nice group !! Period!
Have a nice, funny, rich experience at
L'Université d'Ottawa.
Ok, the picture is not perfect, but your sharing is. So, well done!

Got you all here Sarju this time. Apart from the blurred faces I like this one best. The lighting is good without the flash though. Nice to meet you all... You all look so friendly too.
And welcome to TLens.
Janice

Sarju... I think this is a very good shot, especially for a 2 second exposure. I like the warm lighting and I've always found group shots difficult - someone always has their eyes closed in my attempts.

:o)

Great mood and they seem like a good group of folks to be with.

four boys, four girls.... Friends?
