Hello Johnny,
I'm first today...:)
Very nice capture of the husky. I remember seeing the doumentary about these dogs on Discovery channel, and how they are not only the BEST but only surviver means in some deep Northern places.

I love how is relaxing in that pile of snow..brrrr...to cold for me. He is perfectly belnd in this atmosphere, and a beauty to this snowy shot.

How you find the time to upload even when in Canada.
Indeed those dogs are totally lovely as you show us in your picture. I have seen them in Canada and they love the cold - you probably would love to have a pack of dogs like these and a mansion bordering the river for them to guard!

A beautiful animal so well captured. The contrast of the black against the white snow is very effective. Now I will have to go out tomorrow to try and capture my friends dogs in the snow as I had not realized what a great image it would make. Thank you. Bravo

Hi John,
A nice capture of this sentinel doing his noble job. And yes, he seems perfectly comfortable in the frigid temperature. We used to have a member of the family that we thought had to be cloaked in polar bear fur. She was definitely an "outside" dog, but if we brought her inside in sub-freezing temps, she would bark until we let her out. However, she would enjoy a day napping in the cool basement in the summertime if the temps soared above 90 degrees F. Sorry for that little digression, but I think that besides the technical aspects, one of the attractions of this site is the memories and feelings that others' photos sometimes bring up.

lovely shot of this dog..i had an arctic spitz when i was a boy and this reminds me of him to some extent..
good framing sets this off and 'warms up' the snow and shows its textures

Hmmm.....go figure the last comment........Your shot is very nice John, the dog's expression is adorable. Almost as if he is turning back, maybe thinking of attacking a certain person?...eating him for lunch eh?......or maybe he looks at you with love! Either way, your pic is quite worthy of all the attention.

Totally super, John....... for a short time I dreamt away towards wherever, thinking about needing a break to wherever.... maybe even just a little bit jealous of you enjoying this beautiful winterscene out there in Canada...... which remembers me to meet Richard (a Canadean TL friend, livin' in Montreal if I'm right) once to plan a shoot together of whatever we may decide to pick as a subject.
