Intro! Correction corerection this is NOT the Notredame Cathedral of Montreal ..just had an email of Paul Belanger : in TL *oeilmagique*
Thanks Paul!! I correct it and hope I will not be arrested next time in Canada..Sorry TL here we go again:

Treklens, we are still in Montreal,
here inside ** Cathédrale Marie-Reine-du-Monde **

See WorkShop for the exterior!!!!
------------------------------
With our tourguide and TL member *cleopatra* Real
we had a thorough / approfondi tour in 'Downtown Center of beautifull Montreal

Although I am not so much a 'biblical' person myself, when we went inside this fantastic building .. the roof did not came down on me once inside..

I have to admit .. the view.. silence and peace was a sort of good feeling that came over me..

So.. camera on the edge of the bench in front of me ..
and with a shtterspeed of 1.60 I came up with this result and some minor PP done is PS CS3

What is internet telling us about this place :
Here we go :

Hoi John,

Groeten,

Edwin

Hoi John,
Excellent clear picture amazing vivid colours and it looks as if the cleaning company did some extra effort to give John T a 'spotless' view! :-)
One remark to made; I have the impression the picture is a bit skewed. A panoramic crop will resolve this. Anyway a fine posting John really an attractive place to make pictures and you did!

Hi John! I like your POV and perspective. It's also my favorite when I visit churches. This church looks like Saint Peter's Basilica in Rome, including the baldacchino. I'd like to see it sometime. A bit overexposed on some parts but very good focus.
Cheers!
Freddie :)

Hello John,

Hello John: Whatever it is called, your picture is a great and well illuminated interior shot. Once on TE I made a similar mistake wrongly titling a pic in the frame, which I discovered myself within minutes after, then beating my forehead on the keyboard, creating a whole other mess.......

Hi John,

Groet! Dennis

Very nice and crisp shot here, John. Do also have a 400D?
Good pov and nice and clean colours.
I have also a Sigma 18-200, but my pictures are not always sharp, like this.

How it is with you and Jolanda? I hope fine. Are you retired now? I will call you this week.

the slightly off center POV works well for this image
it givs the viewer the sense of being there, sitting on the bench
love the warm colors
details and sharpness are excellent

Tropicana Award

koh

interiors i find pose two problems
contrast and low level lighting.
i use the top of pew method..:) which you seem to use as well and just go for the highlights..usually i get areas too dark then
you have got a really good spread of light have created space with the low viewpoint and the receeding pew tops
if i ever remember i will carry a tripod!!
i dont see too much evidence of flash but if you used it then bravo!..it all looks so ambient
cheers

Exposure is spot on, John. But I think the height of the church actually called for a vertical lay-out. Still, you said it had a good mood, and the shot conveys that to us imo.
