[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Timetravelling through the Renaissance, I visited the studio of Albrecht Duerer and agreed to sit for a portrait. I think he did a pretty good job.
Technical stuff: nothing too elaborate - I sized a selfportrait to the size of the picture scan, adjusted colors to approximate the colors in the painting, adjusted tilt and unchecked proportion restraint, then re-sizing height and width, brushing in with clone brush repeatedly until the proportions and size were just right, brushing back with the history brush at the edges to blend with the painting. Downsized and picture frame added.

Since I first posted this, I had a lively discussion with my friend Rew about Copyright, Public Domain and Fair Usage. To clarify this issue for everyone, I researched the issue and this is what I came up with:
About copyright - there is a lot of misinformation on the web, also a lot of misunderstanding of terms, such as 'Public Domain' or 'Fair usage'. For comprehensive research in Copyright law, please consult the
Stanford University Library Copyright & Fair Use Center.
Note: I included the above in my Profile (as well as on my links page on my web site), since this is a important research link on the subject.

Oh my god ...

Hehe, what an amazing piece of manipulation and processing. Truly innovative! I'm sure there's some horrendous breach of copyright in here, but I also suspect the artist is long gone and isn't likely to sue ...!

Excellent stuff!

You are a whiz with pp, and you did a fantastic job.
Were you not tempted to tint the mustache a bit to match the hair?

Well there is two works of art here, Otto. I am so very impressed that you could do this. I could not tell there was any inclusion or change to the original image. If I had not read the notes I would still not know. Excellent artistic work.
