Friday Theme 29th Feb 08 Old Building Sepia

Hi, I thought I'd participate in today's theme. A great theme for a leap day.

**I added another sepia version in the WS** Let me know what you think :)

I turned my colour image in "platinotype". I find it beautiful, like the old photos.
Also added the filter Lighting effect to make some parts darker thus making the center buildings more in the sunlight then the rest.

I added in the ws the original colour version.

Take care.

You can add some film grain for more oldish effect too.

You can try by create new layer, give a film grain, then blend it with overlay. And after that, you can give gaussian blur about 1.2 Before you flatten, you can adjust the bightness/contrast of that layer

Yan

Oh, I just LOVE this one Yan! The snow on the roof is perfect!! Love the burned out edges! Really nice and moody! Looks like an old photo!
Superb!

Bonjour Yan,

Merci,

Hi Yan,
This is a strong composition, I love the antique look of it. Great angles, shadows and depth in the photo, it makes an interesting colored shot more dramtic. Thanks for sharing!

Fran
PS-I was wondering why all of a sudden there were so many sepia toned photos, lol!

TFS and for joining in the them

kind regards Helen

A very impressive view Sis
Good use of contrast.. there is a lot of 'dramatique' in your photo..
so we start thinking of : Old English ghost houses
( there us one in the mid little window in snow )

Many thanks for your kind words on Eye of grasshopper .

Hi Yan,
A great sepia winter picture in an really excellent frame. Great tribute to Smurfie's Friday theme :-)
Hans

Bonjour Yan

An excellent result Yan with just enough sepia tone. The coloured version is great but I prefer this version over the other sepia. Good POV and lovely detail. TFS,
David

Many thanks for your comment on ‘Holy Trinity - old building sepia’

Hello Yan,
This really seems like an amazing building, almost in the castle class!
I like the framing going close on the building, fine details have been captured...
The touch of snow tells the story of the season!
Greetings,
Pablo -

Bonjour Yan!

Chapeau bien bas Madame!

Hi Yan...

Beautiful architectural and winter B/W capture...
Great natural lighting, beautiful tones and contrast...
Nice details - Well done,

Hi Yan !
the sepia adds character to this.
Very sharp and good tonal range.

Well done.
Best regards, Daniel

hello,
very "warm" shot on its colors, even if it was probably really cold! really nice shot.
Regarding your workshops, my prefered version is the sepia one; colors version is less charming, and the intermediary is not, my view, interesting.
