I am sorry for not being very active since I posted this image, I caught Ben's bronchitis.
I don't even have the strenght to do more macros, the camera is there waiting for me on the table. I will do some visits in your portfolio a little at the time. Thankx for baring with me.

Here is my first macro shot with my new Canon MP-E 65mm f/2.8 1-5x Macro photo lens.

I am having lots of fun so far at making macro and discovering the possibilities of this very specialized lens.

I dind't use a flash but a reflector of the natural incoming sunlight.

In PP: I used some USM, Match colour and a bit of Neat image.

Unfortunately, the camera exif doesn't mention the magnification used, and I think it is 4x If I recall correctly :) Next time, I will right it down.

Hope you like it! If you have suggestions, I am opened to it ;)

PS: Silke's was right, there are more focal stops, up to f16. Thank you Silke :)

The composition is great, but your dof is very shallow. My suggestion would be to use f/16 t least.
Nice idea
good luck with the lens
This will be fun!!

Hi Yan

I'm curious as to what it is I'm looking at here. Is biscotti some type of red berry
? The frost I recognise. Tfs!

Hi Yan,

I found no focus point here, the idea is great but i think this is a little out of focus. It looks like an abstract this way btw

yan

I wouldn't have a clue about the f stops Yan but I think you may have tried to get a bit too close. Good colour and the focus on the one area is fine. TFS and get well,
David

Hi Yan,

First of I hope you feel better! Great macro shot, the shallow DOF is excellent, the detail, lighting and colors great! Nice camera, hope to see many good shots!

Hello Yan,
What a neat photo you've made, the textures almost make it look like a stormy cloud or a mineral formation..your framing adds to it as well, nicely done. TFS

Hi Yan
Very nice macro, and the colors sharpness and good DOF are well presented.
Bye

Hello Yan,
Seems like your new lens is doing what it is told, and with great result!
Sharp fine details in the macro work, and f/2.8 is really narrow...
The composition is an artistic abstraction, and the subject is fine for this kind of "testing"..!
Greetings,
Pablo -
