[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is another old file i have digged up for the Friday theme.

Artichoke - It is not know from where the Artichoke originated but it is sad it comes from Maghreb. The natrually occuring variant is native in the Meditteranean. Today the main producers are in Italy, Spain and France. It is a healthy vegtable which contains antioxidantes are is recomended food for those who have lever cancer (Among other anti oxidante rich food such as blue berry and pomegranit)They grow to be about 1.5 - 2 meters tall and it's leaves grows to about 80 cm in lenght. It is the bud (as seen on the photo) that is the edible part. It is the fleshy part of the individual petals that are edible as well as the center which is called the hart.

Hello Zandra,
You sure dug up an interesting theme related close-up here ,vegies why not ,i like how you focus on that one particular artichoke off center to give the viewer a sense of depth in your composition,
your notes are informative too,this is one vegetable i eat every week ,my wife makes it a point to get our weekly dose of that healthy veg ,..hihi
