Very creative Dot how you are making a lens hood - my "old" lens also had no hood, however the new one has and that can be handy at times.
Love how the sunlight shows part of the tiny web - very delicate composition this way.

A lovely composition of a great shot. Thanks for sharing your tips on how you achieved this too. I love the OOB presentation. The only thing that I would change is taking out the small bit of leaf at the top left. Still an excellent image that is going right into my OOB theme.

The spider's web has the strange effect of making the twig look as if it is moving!

Hi Dot,
I realy like Birch trees. You have captured the young branch realy well and especialy in the circumstance that you have explained. The detail is very good showing the leaf patterns and cobwebs. The brightness and the shadows works well along with the fact it runs diagonal in the frame which in its self is a simple but effective frame. Well done

This is a really good diagonal layout for the twig with wonderful back light and with super focus to get the spider web.The shade of the sky is attractive as well and the frame is interesting the way you have it going between leaves and over the twig as well.... nicely presented work.... thanks Dot....Roman:0)

Lovely image Dot. Those cobwebs make it all the more interesting too. The only thing I would change would be to crop out the top left leaf poking its head into the scene.
