Back to my night watching the riding lessons. As the girls sat on their horses listening to their instructor I was busy snapping pictures trying to capture the many expressions.

Great photo

Hi Karen

I don't know what effect you used here - noise reduction, poserization, median ...?

Whatever it was, for once, I like it. Maybe it's the b&w treatment, or maybe it's the mix of composition, DOF and the subdued background bokeh, the high contrast, or just the beauty of your subject - something about it really works.

Of course, I'd love to see the original and view how else it might be treated ... but this is really appealing.

Ciao Karen
as a portrait i really like it.. expression is absent and effective.. details in b&w are so moodly.. i like your crop.. and the light you have taken.. well done!
ciao Marco

Hi Karen,
very good portrait, excellent expressions of her face...beautifull B&W tones, well done!!

Have a nice day!

The expression is intense, and the eyes looking down give a more sense of concentration.
Maybe that little bit of blur effect enhances the mood.

Dear Karen,
in this shot, blurred effect is interesting.
her face and hair are nicely blurred to show excellent softness. and lines are emphasized in soft flow, it is wonderful.
her expression looks ambiguous, but it is actually hers.
thank you for your impressive B&W shot.

I like the choice of BW for this Karen and the PP work you used. This lass looks more like she should be doing a fashion shoot than learning to ride. Well done,
David

nice bored - perhaps an almost 'im too good for this look'. or perhaps i'm wrong...
nice lighting and B&W tones, especially in the hair.
nicely done!

A very beautiful portrait, Karen. Backdrop is very neutral, even the bright horizontals in the tr corner are not that disturbing. Excellent sharpness, and you caught her in a very good pose, looking down (to her horse, I guess?).
Her hair appears to suffer from oversharpening a bit, here and there... did you use a blur brush over it, and miss out on a couple of spots? I'm not sure about the processing there...
I also like what Annie did to it in the ws, enhancing the contrasts.

beautiful portrait Karen, the convertion to monochrome works well, resulting to a poster like image.sharp with good clarity.well done.happy shooting.

Really nice b&w portrait! In my opinion needs a bit more sharpness, but other than that, good work!
