[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A beautiful spring day in Calgary,on the little hill called Nose Hill...and some Photoshop,to add some spice:)
The clouds were there already, I only made them "explode".:)
I uploaded the original version for whom might be interested.
P.S.
Some details about the post-processing:
1.I always start by making the photos absolutely correct: white, black and gray levels.I you don`t have that, there is no point going further because all the filters are based on having correct photos in the first place. Applying a filter on a technically incorrect photo is like putting paint on a rusty surface...it won`t make it better unless you clean it first.
2. Of course that the sky had a different treatment than the rest of the photo so I had to build a mask.I never use selection tools or any other third-party plugins for Photoshop. For this photo in particular making the mask was very fast: I did it in the Lab color mode.
I duplicated the L,a and b channels and I applied Auto-Levels to the duplicates to see how they look. I used the Lightness channel duplicate and one of the other two, inverted (I don`t remember which one),combined with "Calculations", on "Multiply" blending mode.
No selection tool or third party software can create a better mask than the ones already present in the image...
3.Now that I had the sky isolated I applied a set of curves to highly increase the contrast to make those clouds pop.The mask I built in 3 minutes worked like a charm:)
4.I created and applied a gradient map to make the highlights look warmer than the midtones and to not touch the shadows. The blending mode for the gradient was "Color Burn", if I recall well.
Unfortunately I don`t save my psd files because they are just too large; I imagine that I will remember what I did:)

Hi Nelu,
Excellent composition is very nicely balanced. The low POV gives an interesting sense of space and with your PP work (great skills) you emphasize the dramatic mood of this evocative image. Beautifully done! Annie

E o atmosfera un pic stranie, te face sa te intrebi ce-o sa urmeze, vine furtuna, unde-o sa se adapasteasca cei doi. Oricum, norii sint fantasctici.
