[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Erythronium americanum (Liliaceae) -- This early spring plant has a plethera of names. In addition to trout lily, it is known as "adder's tongue", "fawn lily" and "dog's tooth violet". It has a history of medicinal use by Native Americans. You will find Trout lily blooming in moist woods in early spring.

I shot these 2 specimens yesterday afternoon in Wilket Creek Park in Toronto. Couldn't resist the fact these two flowers seemed ready for a dance!

Happy Mother's Day!!!

PP Notes:
- Actually, not much done. I slightly adjusted the levels and brushed off two small light areas in the background. Reduced the size in multiple steps and applied USM. Added a frame.

Your photo and note is instructive. I like your composition, colours and DOF -enabling the lilies to stand out very well.

Beautiful shot - colour and background are really good. Like the saturation and contrast. TFS. Tim

It seems that she don't want to dance. Shame?:-)
beautiful colours and contrast. I like the frame.
Simple image in very elegant production:-)
Bravo!

Très belle composition. J'aime bien les pétales des 2 lys qui se croisent. Bravo!

Hello Pierre! Interesting note! Very nice composition, I like the way you left the leaf in the photo. They do seem to be embracing, why not, it's spring! Great job!

very nice shot!i like the contrast with the black, although the green on the right is a bit disturbing.colours and compo are good.well done!

Hi Pierre,
Nice shot! The dark background really helps the bright yellow flowers to pop, even more than they already would've. The composition is really good, too. I've been taught not to shoot a composition with only 2 elements, but, when the composition is asymmetrical like it is here, it works, in my opinion! ;P The lighting is great.
Well done!
Richard

Beautiful shot of this two beautiful yellow flowers. Little question : what is your technique to reduce the size in multiple steps ?

Lovely image, nice soft lighting and colors. Good choice of dark bg, well done!

Hi Pierre,
these to flowers really looks very "friendly", and those four crossed perianths looks very convincing, I mean like dancing (in the dark) :)
I like flowers theme.
Great Shot and work!
