OK, now back to flower shots.

These are Bleeding Hearts in Diane's garden.

Also was shot last year in May and when I compare both images, I can see some improvements.

Dicentra is a genus of about 20 species of herbaceous flowering plants in the family Fumariaceae, native to Asia and North America. The common name, bleeding heart, is used for many of the species. This name comes from the appearance of the pink flower, which resembles the shape of a heart with a drop of blood descending. Source: Wikipedia.

And did you know there is a Bleeding Heart Tavern in London, England?
The TAVERN has guarded the entrance to Bleeding Heart Yard since 1746 with a history of conviviality encapsulated in its then boast of "drunk for a penny and dead drunk for two pence." Source: Bleeding Heart tavern

Very nice shot. I had no idea such flowers existed, nor the Tavern for that matter, but now I do and am fascinated by them. ;)
Your photo displays them quite well, the color and lighting and perspective add nicely to the arrangement and DOF-the softness of the background is very complimentary to the core image here.
Really great capture, I like it, and the learning experience, a lot.

Wilt

Hey we have a couple of bleeding hearts over here! hope they don't get elected! LOL!! Really nice work Pierre! LOVE your quote. Reminds me of "Give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day, Teach a man to fish and he'll eat for a lifetime!"

Bonjour Pierre,

I probably don't spend enough time browing the gallery, because I seem to miss a lot of pictures - have some catching up to do, and these bleeding hearts are really really wonderful (I know you two have a great garden).

Your good DOF make them really stand out.

TFS
Els

Hello Pierre,
I've always loved these flowers, you've photographed them beautifully, the color is vivid and there is a touch of softness which makes it a very romantic shot, lovely framing as well. TFS
