Hi Dot,
nice lively shot - perhaps the horse needed some attention and a friendly voice / touch... it gets pretty boring staying there all alone for who knows how long...

Daniel

Hi Dot,
Seems quite normal to me, I have been talking to the cows last Sunday ^-^.
His posture really is as if he want to "shake" hands with you and is glad to see you.
Very attractive (as are all those side roads).

hi dot.
lovely image of this beauty.
my wife is the horsey person(we live on a riding school).
if this is a stallion he might be agitated as there may have been a mare in season.
some young colts are kept on their own as they can be very violent towards others.
nicely taken.

Hello, Dot,
he does look a bit "high strung". And somehow young and... in need of company. I don't know. Maybe horses are like dogs. They need affection and attention, too. Wonderful detail in this shot and nice natural colors. Somehow my heart kind of goes out to this little thing. Very nicely done and many thanks,
Shelly

Hi Dot,
This is a great shot, nice detail and colour. I have to say this looks like a mare (female) and not a stallion or colt (male) horse, I only say that as it dosnt have a male face or body. If there were 4 other horses across the road then this one might have wanted to join them. Most horses will put there feet up on the fence for attention, almost like asking you to come and talk / touch them. Alot of horses like to be in a herd and not on there own so the sound it was making when you left could have been a way of trying to asking you to stay and keep it company.
Nice shot.

Still excellent sharpness and details.

Nice portrait of an unwilling subject. I don't know anything about horses either but from your notes and those eyes he was definitely wary of your approach and intentions. But, then again, maybe he was just excited.
Anyway, nice light and color and depth here, well done.

Hi Dot,
A nice active shot of this horse. His swinging tail is a fine detail. The colours are a tad dull though (just my opinion) made a WS with some adjustments. Anyway a fine posting my dear!
Hans
Sorry to see you switched of the WS ability.

Hello Dot
Well.. here is an old 'horse man' and the best reason so far I noticed in the reaction of Trampas.
I go even one step further..in saying : I DONT KNOW !!
He is young and playfull for sure ! He is challaching you .. but why.. what reason..Could be bored.. was it the time he gets normaly some extra's from his 'boss' ?
Was he hoping you take him out.. for a ride..
It is just as easy to answer as; why is that 1 year old child smiling and making sounds to me..
as for the photo ..Excellent
Next time put a few sugarlumbs in your pocket ;-) He will jump the fense and get in the car with you
Rgds

Wow, a few years back when I was in New Brunswick we had horses and I had this little Morgan/Arab mare and this fellow is the spitting image, exact same blaze down the face about the same size and same chestnut color.
Godo capture and I like the way he contrasts will all the rich green hues. We've certainly been getting our share of rain which keeps everything lush.....
Cheers

Hi Dot
I'd say he was begging for treats. And because he wasn't getting any he was putting up a fuss. (A little equine psychology) Horses do have lots of character. He's a pretty horse, looks like he may have a little Arab in him....they are known for their attitude and smarts.
