[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Taken at the Canadian National Tournament in Spruce Meadows.
I find that this angle illustrates the title much better than a frontal angle and like the symmetry of the image.
Technically, I wish my longest lens would have been able to provide a shallower depth of field, but this is the best it can do wide open.

Hi Roland,
I like the action of the horse jumping in this shot. The detail of the jump is awesome. You have captured a great action shot.
Regards,
Kevin

Hello Roly,

A very good shot of the horse in collection as he makes the jump. Interesting POV which works very well. Good action shot. Joni

Hi Roly,
What a great shot, I love the way that you have caught this horse in action but like you say it is a real team effort as this rider is showing. Great colours.

Hi Roland,
Well timed, (I know that because I've taken a few show jumping here in Pukekohe).
You got very good focus on the horse and rider, but, as you say, a more blurreg B/G would make the image so much better.
I've never thought to use the macro for anything else, I must try it.
Pete.

Hello Roly,
This is a very dynamic photo, showing an interesting posture of both horse and the rider.
About the gear, what could I say;we all want it longer, right?:)
What I don`t understand is why didn`t you blur the background in Photoshop then?
It`s not such a big deal to do it right. It`s not exactly that good like a real lens blur but at this size nobody would notice, anyways.
Let me know if you need a tip about the best way to do it:)...for free.
Cheers:)
Nelu

Good action shot - you've really captured the energy and power in the horses legs well with the POV, and the details are pin sharp.
Thanks for sharing
Mark

Nice freezing of the action Roland. In my opinion, you could make this shot more interesting by choosing a slower shutter speed, panning the subject and blurring the background. Try it.

Rob

HI Roland..this is a nice sharp shot of the event...well captured.

Roger

Beautiful action shot, smart and dynamic at the same time.
Effective angle and perspective, I agree on your statement about the image suiting the title.
