This was takes the same time as the sailboat photo.

Amazing to see that one side had clear blue skies and the other was still drenched in fog.

And the reason I took this side of the windmill is because there was a truck on the other side. They where putting up the sails (???).

PP: cropped, cloned out a post, resized, sharpened and framed.

In 1672, Intendant Talon concedes the island to François-Marie Perrot who opens an illegal fur trading post. Thirty years later, Joseph Trottier Desruisseaux, the new lord of the island, builds the windmill for the use of the residents enabling them to grind their grain into flour. 300 years ago, the miller took advantage of the strong winds to turn the wings of the mill. Since then, the mill has ruled the island still rotating it’s wings on very windy days.

Île Perrot holds the only working windmill in Quebec, dating from the time Île-Perrot was a seigneury in the French colony of New France.

Another beautiful photo well composed, good clarity, color and a nice and descriptive note. Best of all is the framing which goes along with the colors of the photo. Congratulations Pierre.

I like this thing Pierre! I need one! I love old brick work like this! A little over sharp on my monitor, but it might just be my monitor! or my eyes! How is C the D?

Hi Pierre,
I like the detail in the stone windmill. The POV is really good and people standing next to the structure really show it's incredible size. Nice work.

So that is what the group of people are looking at! :) Nice details on the brick.. I wonder what that pipe coming off the roof is for? I bet before long this gets back in service with gas prices being so off the wall!

I was not aware that this beauty existed, Pierre. I love the texture and the red framing the little door. Were they working to get it operational, thus the truck that you mentioned? Wonderfully composed and very interesting. Bravo

I liked this Pierre. The centering bothers me a bit as well as the strong light, but it's a very interesting subject as I like the Holland ones as well. TFS
