[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Many of the local churches have made major changes to their grounds in recent years. Rather than grow great expanses of grass that needs watering and mowing, they have parcelled off portions of the property into small garden plots to be used by neighbours from surrounding apartments. These tiny plots grow all manner of fresh vegetables, including this squash whose blossom is only just opening. At its heart, you can see a busy little insect harvesting pollen and perpetuating life :)

It's a real pleasure to see urban land being used resourcefully like this

Tech: captured in raw, resized, cropped tight, sharpened blossom, blurred background, framed and signed

Thanks for looking and have a wonderful week

Beautiful flower here Silke, RICH yellows HAHA! I laugh because I just got through pulling yellow OUT of my photo! This flower just looks like it’s FULL of pollen! Love your details. Love the comp on this, slightly turned, instead of the temptation of making it straight up and down! Very nice work again!
B-)

Hi Silke

A fantastic macro of the squash flower. I thought it was a pumpkin vine at first. Good dof & colour. Tfs!

Hi Silke,
What a wonderful idea! I'd like to see it being practiced here too. Soo much land and water wasted either abandonned or covered with decorative, useless luxury.

Your blossom is perfect in sharpness and detail and the colors are very lovely.

TFS
Regards,
Lurdes

Thats a great idea!! Also a great picture! Maybe after reading your note more places will start to do this. Have a great day Silke!

Hi dear friend,
indeed it's a real pleasure to see the urban land being used like this.
Beautiful close up with nice details and tones.
Have a lovely day.
Ioana

Beautiful shot and excellent note Silke.
I agree with you 100% on the resourceful use of our urban lands.
Recently had my front lawn replaced with a drought tolerant flower and fruit tree garden.
It basically only needs a fraction of the water the lawn used to need.

Love the star shape of this flower, great clarity
and perfect DOF.
Well done!
- Vincent

Hi Silke,
A nice POV, reat soft tone colours. Great DOF, the f/11 worked :-) Like the presentation in the a-symmetric frame. Great posting Silke!

Hi Silke,
I could to smell the characteristic odor of this cucumber flower! As it don't reflect the light, you rendered so well its matt color... and the fine lace on the petals.
Very fresh and alive photo! Annie

Bonjour Silke
C'est net sur le coeur de la fleur et ce jaune est un rayon de soleil.

Hello Silke,

I think that is a very sensible and productive way of using the land. Everyone benefits.

I love the strong colour tones of this star-shaped flower. The textural details are superb. Very nicely composed and framed.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)
