Silke, this is marvelous!! Excellent back lighting for this, with just a bit in the sunlight! Love the warm colors here, excellent sharpness and congratulations again on hitting the BIG 20K….people have a lot to learn from those who have been on this site a while. The fact that you have been here for this long says to me, commitment, dedication and LOVE of photography, an extremely admirable trait. You can’t beat experience!

Hi Silke, the background helps this flower to jump from the screen... great complimentary colours of orange and green enhance and give a fine composition. The flower is well defined and sharply focused...

Ah...one of my favorite flowers:) Love the brilliant orange and crisp details of the blossom. Two other things catch my eye though: 1) the bud in focus at the upper left and 2)the whitish spot along the lower portion of the stem. The bud could be blurred, and the spot could be cloned out...both to avoid their tendency to distract. You might even find it helpful to clone out the other small petal fragments along the left border. The light through the petals is wonderful and full of summer cheer:)

I had some in a very shady part of the garden where the light was near impossible to get a halfway decent photo. I moved them and will now have to wait to see if they survived. Lovely light Silke and excellent definition on the flower. TFS,

Hi Silke,

This is so beautiful. The little glare is pretty and way the leaves look is pretty. Little drops of water are a bonus. Clarity is excellent. I like the sunlight coming through the petals, so sweet. SUperb is the word.
