[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
In recent weeks I’ve had three occasions to see this historic church, only one of which was actually connected to events at the church itself. But I was lucky, for the weather was good for shooting each time.
For the “3 in 1” theme, I offer three views of the beautiful steeple, but I ask your forgiveness if I place my alternate views in a workshop. The mid-day sun washed out the sky in one shot, making a collage less than ideal.

The view I offer you here is one of the two taken on Canada Day when Roy was playing in a musical event outside the church proper.
The Cathedral Church of St. James is both a parish church ministering to Toronto’s historic St Lawrence neighbourhood and a cathedral (where the bishop's chair - the "cathedra" - is located). The building dates to 1853, the last of four churches built on this site. The first wooden one (erected in 1807) was replaced by 2 stone churches, each of which burned down. The current building has gone through a number of renovations and updates, the last of which was in 1997, when a peal of 12 change-ringing bells was installed.

Set-up: To capture this I had to stand on the streetcar tracks in the middle of the street. This meant timing my (somewhat slow) walk so that there would be no traffic in either direction, while Roy fussed on the sidewalk behind me :) A local resident tried to tell me that shooting into the sun as I was doing was dangerous – so I was well cared for ;)

Tech: Captured in raw, adjusted levels and contrast, converted to jpg, cropped for perspective and to eliminate a bit of overexposed sky to the top right of the building, resized, sharpened, framed and signed

Thanks for looking and have a safe weekend (^o*)

Fantastic reflections, with good colour, sharpness & distortion. Tfs!

Hi Silke
This one serves well as the "lead" image of your three in one. The shimmering image is well captured on the skyscraper's glass sides. Quality detail and colors here my friend.

Hi Silke, great image, good pov, nice compo! gr Marleen

Hello, my friend,

I think this is probably the best way to show three photographs. I know for certain that I lost a lot of detail when my shots were all reduced in size.
They all have their own charm but I think I like this one best because of its originality and because I could spend longer looking at this and seeing new features, or recognising new perceptions.
Lovely details and colours throughout!

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Silke,
Looks familiar :-) Great capture of treflection, nice sharp and bright. Great colours and superb PP work for the theme.
Great one oh Lady of the Lens :-)
Hans

Very beautiful composition and colors Silke, the sharpness is astounding. Congratulations

I forgive you!!
I do like your reflections here Silke. The tower distorts well in all the panes of glass.
Well done

Hi Silke,
Impressive reflections with a magnificent coloured harmony! Toronto with its many glasses buildings and its beautiful light is a good place for taking this kind of photos! You did that so perfectly! Bravo! Annie

Really good the three shots, specially this.
The reflection and luminosity are great.
Your presentations fit perfect to the theme.

Mario

Hiya Silke

Yes indeed I have to agree with Linda here, this is also my favourite, its arty and original with an additional abstract feel. Having said that I do like both the workshop views too, this one however has that added voom voom ;-)

TFS and for joining in the theme

kindr regards Helen

Three different POV's Silke and each one different in colour as well. Good clear reflections in this one, a good crop and nicely framed.

Hi Silke. This is very effective with the vertical element well aligned and the clarity good. Reflected old from the new is a story in itself. TFS. Murray.
