[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
After a meeting one morning last fall, I took advantage of the blue skies and let the traffic lights decide which way to go.
Have you ever done that? If the light is green, I drive straight, and if it's red, I turn right. It is not often I have the time for this game, so I love playing it when I can. I have found some beautiful places that way. And this one is no exception.
I had seen some nice fall colours on the trees in a cemetery and decided to go in for a bit of a shoot. The groundskeeper spotted my licence plate, confirmed that I really was there to take some pictures and suggested that I wander further in.

I hadn't known until then that the oldest part of this cemetery is on the lip of a hill, with the Cook's Bay portion of Lake Simcoe barely in view.
And of course, this is perfect for Helen’s Friday theme – so thank you, Helen Matten, for giving me a good reason to ring this one out.

Tech: shot in RAW (no fancy filters), converted without sharpening, or changing anything! The sky was that colour!

Thanks for looking and for all your critiques, workshops and suggestions. Have a healthy, happy, and safe weekend.

I just love the view here Silke! And the bits of colors in the trees make this a super shot. The framing is really nice dark because it enhances the colors even more. Really nice work, very peaceful!

The f11 has produced lovely sharpness throughout the image and the colour control here is spot on - gotta love those greens! Simply a well-executed landscape shot.

Hi Silke,
Agree with Kilted; a superb landscape impression. Superb colours and sharpness one of your best landscape pictures.

Very nice Silke, although the thought of the fall that is not that far away, is a little over whelming. No time.. not time. Love the colours of the horizon and the lovely greens of the grass contrast. The winding road is the finishing touch. Well done.
Warmest Regards
Wanda

Such a beautiful view! And the trees are just lovely! Very nice colors and good depth. A very nice spot to just 'get away' from it all. Have a good day!

Hello Silke,

I was intrigued to find out why you had called it Eternity!
The 'turning' trees certainly relay the autumn touch and add a richer variety of colours to your shot!
I like how the long shadows help to define the slope of the hillside.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

nice scenery. like the horizon dividing the green field fromthe blue sky. colors are great, clear and crisp.

Hello Silke

A lovely POV here, amazing scenery well shot with good sharp detail and lovely colour tones. The line of trees act as a good lead accross the image.

TFS and for joining in the theme

Kind regards Helen

Being country town raised Silke I really do like this one. Wide open spaces, well composed with good foreground detail. The colour in those trees will be stunning,

Hi Silke,
I like your philosophy, drive where the road takes you. Beats the heck out of timetables etc, and look where it can lead you.
This is a beautiful landscape, the wide angle lens does give you beautiful skies, well seen.
Pete.

Bonjour Silke
Le sujet est assez simple, mais cette photo a vraiment beaucoup de charme ! La profondeur de champ est très bonne, la composition excellente, les couleurs également ( quel ceil !), et le travail d'encadrement très très judicieux. Bravo !
Cordialement,
Antoine.
