This is so nice Silke! LOVE the blue sky in this! What a beautiful church, I love this huge Steeple! Your colors are rich and I’ll bet the air is nice and cool, I can feel it. Superb framing I might add, such an eye to detail. Top notch!

Beautiful day (till now) All the rain was falling yesterday already, haha
Good shot of this beautiful Church.
The half people in front could have been cloned out, right ?

Hi Silke
The centering of the church spire works well here, because the lower section of the church still adheres to the rule of thirds, in the composition. Good colour & sharpness. Tfs!

Nicely composed shot Silke with great light and color.
I like how we can see much of the surrounding area to the structure.
Well chosen POV, excellent work!

Bonjour Silke
Belle présentation de cette église, les couleurs chaudes des murs s'accordent bien avec le ciel et les parties blanches rehaussent le contraste.
Bonne journée
Amicalement

This really is a beauty!! I love the architecture, and the details and colors are so sharp! I must travel east someday, the buildings are so much older than the ones you can find around here. This looks to be kept in wonderful condition! TFS and have a happy day!

Hi Silke,
Classical view! Very clear and sharp! The side angle is so effective!
This beautiful church with these white borders on windows and small gables looks impressively against this superb blue sky.
I do prefer this one! More attractive with the black frame!
Bravo! Annie

Hi Silke
Good colours and composition.
I prefer this version.
Very good POV.

Hello, Silke,
Lovely shot. Wonderful color, excellent clarity, superb detail. I find myself inclined to agree with Kickback on the composition. The spire seems a tad too centered for my taste and you could have done with less of the greenery on the left. I have done a quick workshop to show what I mean. Hope you are not offended. Many thanks and kindest wishes,
Shelly

Hi Silke,
Nice church and well captured, I like the POV allowing us to see the front and side of the building, the colours and details are good and set off well with a nice sky, I think I would have maybe cloned out the three people on the right and maybe the sign by the tree.
Well done

Love the central placement of the church in the frame, it gives it a huge impact that works well IMO - although I think a narrower, vertical composition would've been even better, to eliminate some of the unnecessary elements either side.
Good saturation and contrast.

It's great when you can grab an opportunity to capture images without the normal obstructions Silke.
You have done justicde to this older church & the congregation have really looked after its upkeep, those whites are spot on & so vibrant in the viewing of the image,my eyes go all around the building because of them.

Good use of a day without cars. My preference, since you asked, is that I prefer the non-framed version in the workshop. It is probably an optical illusion, but I find the non-framed version brighter. The image is very crisp throughout with good midtone contrasts. TFS. K2

What an attractive church this is Silke and it stands out even more so with it being built on the corner.
I prefer it without any of those frames. I would have okayed the green frame if it was a small black border instead of green.
I personally don't like how these big frames take the attention away from the photo, and it also means that the photo is too small too.
And I do like seeing the people around the church - it makes it look 'alive'!!
Cheers

Hello Silke,
A lovely pov with the church's steeple being the pivotal point. To the right, the historic building and architecture. To the left, people, trees and activities.
Your deep borders complement this perfectly.
Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hi Silke - first like your notes on this and what caught my eye was fact I saw this same church Friday when at a wedding in Oakville (except was pouring rain).
Like both photo's personal perference was one without border.
Like the rich color of the sky as it adds contrast to the building and its surrounding, and helps to add to your focal point.

How lucky you are to get enough room to include the whole structure Silke. Good colour and detail and a perfect POV. Framing versus non framing...either/or, you do get a little more detail in the unframed version. 3 birds top left?

I think Shelly's compo, de-centering the spire, works a bit better for me, Silke. But the rest of the pp she did is not to my liking.
Apart from that: I'll take the non-framed version anytime. I really can't see a use for frames on tl apart from breaking the picture from the backdrop... And in general, I don't like big frames, as I told Hans when I met him in Bruges.
On the other hand, I'll never judge a picture by the frame. IMO tl's about the pictures, not about the frames. Given we only have 800 px, I reckon most of this dimension should go to details in the picture.
Ok, that being said, let me talk about the shot; apart from the somewhat centered compo, I thing it's technically perfect.

Hi Silke,
Beautiful architecture, taken from an interesting pov - love the perspectives here; the beauty of the church was made even greater from this angle. Love that black framing.

It's such a joy when all things turn out to beat the expectations, and turn better than we hoped!
You were really lucky here, Silke, and I guess you took your "shot" at it!:) Really great result in a classy presentation!
Best regards,
Diana
