I couldn't make up my mind about the title for this one, so your input will be appreciated once again (as it always is).

These clowns are about hip height, so I bent down to get the reflection and the odd effect it creates -- very "Twilight Zone" to me for some reason.

This was shot at night and I wanted to make use of the slightly garish light of the booth, so I pushed my ISO to the top and shot at 1600. The result is a bit grainy, which suits this type of image, I think -- a little gritty and unreal :)

Tech: Captured in raw and adjusted levels, contrast & saturation in raw with PhotoShop CS2, converted to jpg, cloned out a distracting reflection in the strip at the far side, resized, sharpened and signed

Thanks for looking and for all your critiques, workshops and suggestions. Have a healthy, happy, and safe week.

Bonjour Silke,
Beautiful composition and lovely colors, Excellent POV.and details, good sharpness and beautiful view,
Very well done.

Hi Silke,

Now I sort of get a bit of understanding why Boomcat thinks that clowns have something terrifying, it looks indeed -yes twilight zone-
Strange, but I don't get a nice warm and fuzzy feeling by looking at this beautiful composition.

yes that repetition and reflection does given the twilight zone effect. very nice details and colorful image. tfs, Silke

Hello Silke

Good vision you had here
I find them very beautiful and amusing
the infinite contemplated in the mirror gave a beautiful effect!
Congratulations, very well composed and of very good taste
in the execution and in the colors.
Greetings!

Sérgio

It does have that twilight zone effect for some reason, Silke. I just don't want to be locked inside a store full of them!!! I like the gay colours here as well as your angle. Nicely captured, Silke.

Hi Silke

Good repetition of the colourful carnival clowns with superb sharpness. Great to have 1 breaking the pattern. Tfs!

Hi Silke,
Briliant observed, a great colour festival, well captured and presented. The infinity view is superb. Great title too.

Oh no! To see those mouths - open like this - ad infinitum - forever and ever!! It's frightening Silke!!
The mirror give a good result. Good angled shot - I've tried with their mouths open facing me, but this low angle on the side works much better.

The repetition is very beautiful here, Silke. No noise, or not disturbing anyway. Downsizing to 800 px usually lessens the noise quite a lot, so most of the times 1600 ISO is no problem - unless used by daylight.
I also like the reflection of the attendant, but I'd consider cropping more from the top to avoid most of her body which looks awkward cut off like this - to me, at least...

These clowns are indeed different Silke. I almost feel as if they are making fun of me. They're up to something I'm sure. :D

Very colorful, creative use of the mirror and repetitive patterns. I think you have the perfect title for it.

FEED ME

Not sure if it works but I guess their waiting for something to be thrown into their mouths:) I really like this,it says
PLAYLAND,FAIRGROUND,come try your luck, have fun.I also like that the attendants image is shown in parts in the reflection
in the mirror,in such a way that one can make out the person.

Hello Silke

This is just superb, an absolute riot of colour and nice and sharp with excellent reflections that extend the image, well seen and captured.

TFS regards Helen

I LOVE This picture Silke. Also, I have a morbid fear of clowns, so this picture almost has a horror feel to it for me. It is very twilight zone too, how it just keeps going and going. Its very very cool. Excellently done, very scary.

Going on my Fav's!

Hi Silke,
Lovely, beautiful composition that really works. Creatively done with very well-managed exposure. Love the result very much. The color, reflection, perspective and clarity that well blended for a great shot.

Regards,
Ramdan.

Hello Silke, this shot has certainly promoted much discussion.
An excellent POV with the clowns heads seeming to reach into infinity.
Eye-catching colours.
Did the heads move? A shot of them looking into the camera could be quite scary!
Tfs, regards Jean.

Definately one for the Coulrophobics out there - there is something sinister about clowns and having the repeating theme like this just amplifies it! Great POV and bright colours
Thanks for sharing
Mark

Hihi ... well seen !
The " but " is about the POV and so the composition :
moving a bit to the right so the black area on the left
wouldn't be on the photo
( maybe not possible : otherwise you get yourself in the
mirror ? )
and, maybe, start with the second clown, who is sharp,
as a " lead in " ( don't know if that is English :-) )

TFS
