White Car Tailing White Bug (Grafitti I)

| [Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note |
While I'm a fan of imaginative graffiti, mere tagging turns me off. I liked this little figure, especially since there was a dynamic between him and the world: there was a white car, reflected in the window behind him, that seemed to be tailing him and making him more than a little anxious. The simple tags surrounding him aren't much in themselves, but collectively they seem to have converted this particular doorway into a graffitosystem -- like an ecosystem -- where a graffiti bug like this guy might comfortably live (or just hide out).
For an historical perspective on graffiti (which is more interesting than it sounds), don't miss Kilroy in the Desert, an article about bedouin graffiti. And for the best of modern spray can art, you MUST tune in to Art Crimes, which has a great archive of the most amibitious work you'll see worldwide, on walls, on train cars, and everywhere else paint can reach. |

Funny picture,Lee! Interesting tagging especially in black and white! We are used to see graffiti in colours because most of the time they are very colorful! I like the contrast of the white car ,your little figure and the other graffiti on the black wall and the window! Well done! Michel
I find this photo pretty cool! I like the high contrast of the graffiti and the door. I love the sticker too. Nice job. Cool idea. JP

Hey man, fabulous graffiti capture. the variety is fine. good eye to capture the paste-on. i wonder what the color version looks like.
A good capture, Lee. I like the combination of graffiti, an odd sticker and the window with the reflection. Good choice for B&W.
